In 1960, Houston welcomed their very own professional football franchise with the Houston Oilers. However, when the Oilers moved to Tennessee in 1997, the football-loving town was left with no team. With Bob Nair’s determination and 5-year anticipation from the locals, Houston Texans became a member of the NFL as an expansion team. On their first season, the Houston Texans wasted no time, defeating the Dallas Cowboys 19-10 during their opening game.

Although the Houston Texans has never been to the playoffs, the team has been a promising contender, especially with a record of 8-8 in the 2007 season. With such a short history, the Houston Texans already has a list of amazing players including Aaron Glenn, Gary Walker, Andre Johnson, Jerome Mathis and DeMeco Ryans. Since the team is still young, no Houston Texans have been inducted to the Pro Football Hall of Fame…yet.

Last season, quarterback David Carr got injured, but thanks to replacement Sage Rosenfels, the team ended with an improved record for 2007, compared to the 6-10 record in 2006. With Mario Williams on defense and Andre Johnson on offense, the Houston Texans has a good chance of making it to the playoffs this season. Can these changes help the Houston Texans turn the tables around and show the league what they’re really made of? Is 2008 the year that the Houston Texans finally make it to the playoffs? There’s only one way to find out – Grab your premium seats at the Reliant Stadium by reserving your Houston Texans tickets early!
